Deep tissue massage therapy is used to target areas of chronic pain, such a as neck, shoulders, lower back and legs. This type of massage will address muscular tension and knots in the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissues in the body. Deep tissue massage involves the use of firm pressure using hands, elbows, fists, and forearms to target specific areas of tension and tightness. Communication is important during a deep tissue massage, and I check in on how you are feeling throughout your treatment to ensure you are comfortable. Although this massage may sound painful, done correctly it is described as a nice pain or just uncomfortable, if you have had massage before this is something you will relate to.
